Two American Poems and Other Songs

A collection of early and long out-of-print songs, issued in collaboration with the Bliss Trust to mark the 50th anniversary of the composer's death. Preface by Giles Easterbrook, an unswerving advocate of Bliss's music, giving the background to the songs' composition, including the relevance of the composer's British/American parentage, World War I and romantic inspiration. An album of attractive settings of major poets.
