More than 135,000 titles, and the one you want is seconds away. Our search was built for musicians. It knows composers and arrangers, it finds a song tucked inside a songbook, and it forgives a typo. Here's how to get the most from it.
Searching
Type whatever you know
A title, a composer, an arranger, an editor or a publisher, even the name of one song inside a collection. Type Hall of the Mountain King tuba and you get the tuba books that include it.
Holding the music? Type the number on the back
The publisher's item number on the back cover finds that exact edition, with or without its letters: 00196892 and HL00196892 both work. So does the barcode number, and so does our own item number, AFW-00196892. Reordering last year's octavo takes about ten seconds.
Close is good enough
Your spelling doesn't have to be perfect. Rubank tresures still finds Rubank Treasures for Tuba. Accents don't matter either: typing Dvorak finds Dvořák, and Faure finds Fauré.
Watch it answer while you type
Matching titles appear under the search box as you type each word, so you can often click your piece before you've finished typing.
Add a word to zero in
SATB Christmas, easy piano, trumpet solo. Every word you add narrows the list.
Then filter in a click
Beside your results, filters narrow the list by voicing, genre, season and occasion, instrument, grade, accompaniment, performance time, contest and festival lists, publisher and price. Search SATB Christmas, then pick a publisher you trust or set a price range, in a click each.
Browsing
A menu arranged the way musicians think
Start with what you sing or play, then narrow it: Choral & Vocal › Mixed Voices › SATB. Click a heading to open the list beneath it, or double-click any heading to go straight to its page, however far down you are.
Music for the occasion
Under Occasions & Styles you'll find Christmas & Holiday, Church & Sacred Music, Musical Theater & Broadway, Jazz, Patriotic, Wedding and Classical, and Best Sellers, the titles musicians buy most.
Every list filters the same way
Collection pages have the same filters as search. Open SATB, choose Christmas, and you're looking at Christmas music for mixed choir and nothing else.
Look and listen before you buy
Many product pages show sample pages in the picture gallery, and many have recordings under Listen, so you can hear a piece before you buy it.
Sort the list your way
Every list opens on our best sellers first. Use Sort by to order it by title or by price instead.
Or just ask
The chat at the bottom of every page knows the catalog. Describe what you need the way you'd tell a colleague, "an easy Christmas piece for my middle school SAB choir", and it comes back with real titles and links. If it can't find something, it passes your question to a person. You can always contact us too.
