Piano Book No. 1

Inspired by the 19th & 20th century tradition of piano albums, when pianos (rather than TVs or computers) could be found in most households throughout the western world, Piano Book No. 1 is Gabriel Prokofiev's first collection of piano music. Originally composed for the Ukrainian-British pianist GéNIA, the aim was to create an intimate-sounding piano album that combines elements of the classic piano books of the past with a more contemporary approach, so that moments of nostalgia are intertwined with urban modernity.
