Jimi Hendrix – The Stories Behind Every Song

Jimi Hendrix was probably the greatest solo rock guitarist of all time. His music and performance style changed the face of popular music for ever and over 50 years after his death he is still worshipped by fans and acknowledged by leading musicians, songwriters and performers. Hendrix connected with his audiences as a songwriter and performer. Songs like “Voodoo Chile” and “Third Stone from the Sun” were the brilliant products of a dazed yet expanded consciousness and so much more than just a product of their time. In Jimi Hendrix: The Stories Behind Every Song music journalist and author David Stubbs provides the definitive companion to Hendrix's recorded output, from the early years, including “Hey Joe” and “Purple Haze” to his unfinished final album First Rays of the New Rising Sun and 2009's previously unreleased Valleys of Neptune.
