Come Now and Follow Me

This affirming song of discipleship, written for the Bethany Lutheran Church in West Hartford, Connecticut, invites the worshipper into a more committed walk of faith. The writing team of Nancy Price and Don Besig has created a warm and moving challenge from the words of the gospels. Come Now and Follow Me may be sung by any size group, and the inclusion of the congregation on the final refrain makes for a worshipful as well as musical experience. The trumpet descant adds interest and scope, while the flowing piano part beautifully supports the rich harmonic writing. This directive from Christ to “come and follow” will strengthen your personal resolve and that of your faith community to walk together as friends and fellow disciples of the Lord.
