Rise and Shine!
(from Ceremony of Candles)
Uses: Advent, Christmas Eve, Christmas, Epiphany, Concert
Scripture: Isaiah 60:1; Daniel 12:3
Alive with shining energy, this time-honored carol tune is given new poetic clothing and adorned with a treasury of musical delights. From the opening dance-like gestures in the accompaniment to the more classical styled interludes, this octavo is a “tour de force” for your holiday concerts. A surprise middle section contrasts with a quote from Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring before surrendering once again to the almost jocular happiness of the theme. For Advent, Christmas or Epiphany, this anthem will be a festive favorite. Available separately: SATB, StudioTrax CD (Accomp., SplitTrax, Perf.), Orchestration (Score & Parts for Flute 1 & 2, Oboe, Clarinet 1 & 2, Bassoon, Horn 1 & 2, Trumpet 1-3, Trombone 1 & 2, Bass Trombone/Tuba, Timpani, Percussion, Harp, Harpsichord, Violin 1 & 2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass). Duration: ca. 3:21.
