Larry Porter – Piano Rags

Larry Porter (*1951), American jazz musician and composer, wrote “Piano Rags” out of love for ragtime and as literature for his piano students. Four of the compositions are inspired by memories and impressions of his native country. In writing these pieces, Porter gave free reign to his creativity and at the same time paid his respects to this extraordinary century-old art form. Fantastic pieces for distinctive piano lessons and tantalizing concerts. Contents: Crab Apple Rag • Athens County Rag • Classical Rag • Garlic Rag • Grand Slam Rag • Homesick Rag • Peace March • The Penny Arcade.
